March 2019; Killraven and his band of freemen are crossing Lake Michigan on an ice catamaran; Two huge sea lampreys break through the ice and attack; One plants its sucker on Grok's back; Carmilla Frost tries to rescue him; The other lamprey knocks M'Shulla's crossbow out of his hands before he can fire; Hawk pulls Frost away from her useless attack, but she slugs him; Killraven kills the other lamprey with a harpoon gun, then swings above the first one and hits it with a silver star so that Grok won't also be killed; As it stands, Grok barely survived; In Chicago, the Martians have replaced the Loop with Central Command, which is only the hub of Death-Birth, a research center and slave pen; In Indianapolis, the High Overlord interrogates Skar about his encounter with Killraven (in issue #25); Skar gladly accepts a mission to track down Killraven. June 2019, Nashville Tennessee: Killraven and his Freemen have arrived before the Octotympanum-Viewscope building; In the 1990's it was a device which could make your own fantasies a reality; There they find that the device still works and Old Skull particularly enjoys the lucid creations and cute creatures the device can create for them; As the tired Freemen rest, they check on Grok who is still on death's door, and Hawk tells of the rift between him and his father in the days before the Martian invasion caused by his father's addiction to the Octotympanum-Viewscope simulations of Sherlock Holmes adventures; Realizing that Old Skull has once more ventured into the device, Killraven goes after him to find that the device had created a menacing dragon to attack the both of them.

when they realize there are other's tracks in the snow; Returning to the cave they have holed up in, Killraven goes exploring and soon finds himself captured by a band of black men calling themselves the Brothers; Killraven is taken to their leader the Head Man, who tells Killraven about the persecution of his African-American ancestors and how during the Martian invasion, the majority of blacks fled the cities to seek refuge underground and formed their "Brother" nation; Raised on a culture of hatred of those with white skin, Head Man sentences Killraven to be fed to a giant mutant creature which dwells in the cave water. Black Bolt moves away from the boy to a tanker that is moored at the end of the dock and hesitantly pronounces the word 'I'; The resulting shock completely destroys the tanker and creates a small tidal wave, so the boy leads Black Bolt away from the authorities while Maximus mentally enslaves the Inhumans to attack the royal family and they flee the scene. The Avengers (Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, the Vision, Quicksilver, Goliath) watch Mr. Dibbs and Black Bolt threaten the tenements on a view screen and make plans to travel to San Fran, but Thor insists on going to confront Mr. Dibbs alone; The other Avengers don't know that Don Blake was the one who diagnosed Mr. Dibbs with terminal cancer, and when Thor arrives he struggles briefly with the royal family who are attempting to get Black Bolt to recognize them; Thor fails to talk Mr. Dibbs into accepting a peaceful resolution and reluctantly dispatches him with his hammer; Plot crossover with The Avengers (Marvel, 1963 series) #95. "How Shall I Kill Thee? Let Me Count the Ways!", script by Gerry Conway (Plot) and Roy Thomas (Writer), pencils by Don Heck, inks by Bill Everett; The Black Widow and Ivan are captured by a racist German, the Watchlord, who loathes all Russians due to his childhood involving the Russian invasion of Germany; He wraps Natasha up in floorboards but Ivan rescues her and they escape; A boulder crushes the Watchlord. The Black Widow feature ends with this issue.
