As Bruce is being pursued by the police, he is picked up by Dr. Doom's limo and taken to the Latverian embassy; When Ross and his contingent of soldiers show up to ask Doom to relinquish his guest, he releases a Hulk robot instead; The army quickly destroys the robot, thinking they have done away with the real thing; Bruce bristles at the thought of having Doom as his savior so the villain gasses him and takes him back to Latveria; Doom uses his "subliminal inducer" on Banner, hoping to make both he and his monstrous alter-ego his willing servants.

Hulk is trying to make his way home from Latveria but ends up in the Sahara desert where he stumbles upon a movie set; The director gets the wild idea to put the Hulk in his film but is thwarted in his efforts when his new star transforms into puny Banner; Bruce gets abducted by aliens who have arrived to witness a gladiatorial contest thousands of years in the making; When Bruce accidentally nullifies one of the stone combatants, the Hulk is left to fight the Colossus on his own; Meanwhile, back at Gamma Base, Ross unveils his plans for a military instillation designed to take down the Hulk.

While the Hulk sadly walks the city remembering Jarella, a group of bandits attacks a jailhouse with a special tank; They rescue a friend and on their way out, they accidentally hit the green giant (what a mistake!); Hulk gets mad and destroys the tank; The cops arrive but Hulk leaps away and rests in an alley, turning into Banner; Meanwhile at the jailhouse, a broken water pipe wets a paper box that was kept in another cell; Inside the box there's the Absorbing Man!; The villain is able to break free from jail. While the Hulk and Jim Wilson walk the streets of New York city, the green giant is spotted by the cops; The police starts firing but can't do much; So a heavy weight robot joins the battle: the Quintronic Man; With significant attacking power and driven by 5 men, the robot knocks the Hulk out using gas; The Hulk is locked in a truck's cage filled with gas; Jim is taken with them; But Wilson turns the steering wheel, crashing the truck to a wall; The cage cracks open, the gas is released and the jade mastodon wakes up very mad; The Quintronic Man efforts seem worthless so gas is tried again; But the Hulk covers the output hole with a piece of pavement; The robot is filled with gas affecting the pilots; The robot falls crashing a building; Victorious, Hulk grabs Jim and leaps away; At that moment, the Jack of Hearts shows up promising to capture the Hulk.
