The Asgardians travel to the Dark Nebula, there they are attacked by the miners, who think that they are raiders coming to attack again; Once they are defeated and realize who they are, they offer to help; They begin to check with the Alterian miners who deal in slaves, when they are attacked by Mercurio and his army; While they are fighting, the three miners surrender themselves to a gigantic jewel in their mine; The jewel then erupts from the surface and Thor sees that Sif and Karnilla are trapped within the jewel; The voice of the jewel tells them that if they come any closer, they will die.

Odin has commanded that Thor go to Rigel, and with him shall go Balder, Sif, Tana Nile, and Silas Grant; Meanwhile, Krista finds a glowing stone and seems to be possessed by it; The Asgardians arrive on Rigel, only to find it abandoned; The Colonizers have all fled before the arrival of the Black Stars; Only the mutant class remains, and they attack; The Asgardians defeat the mutants, and upon hearing their tale, take them all aboard their ship; Just then, the Black Stars arrive, and destroy Rigel; The Asgardians catch up to the Colonizer fleet where they learn the origin of the Black Stars.

With Odin still missing the God of Mischief quickly vanquishes the Vizier; Outside of Avengers Mansion, Thor rescues a small child from an oncoming truck; Thor has decided to gather the Avengers to help him battle Loki and his oncoming army; When Thor goes back to Avengers Mansion, he finds it encased in a force field; Similarly, all of the superheroes around the country, as well as the Baxter Building, are encased in smaller force fields; Thor is summoned to the Pentagon where he and the Army are on alert to repel Loki's forces.

Igron tells Thor how he came across a diminutive Mangog in the dungeon; Igron then stole a portion of each Asgardians life force to bring Mangog back to power, which explained their lethargic state; After Odin regained his memory and left Earth for Asgard, he disappeared and never arrived; Igron then cast a spell to make Mangog look like Odin, and thus their plan was born; The guards then attack Thor and while he is distracted, Mangog strikes him down; Elsewhere, the warriors rally the people to their cause, but when they arrive at the gates, they see Thor shackled up like a scarecrow; As they strike, Mangog (back in disguise), transforms them all to animals; He finally snaps and kills Igron as well, which ends his disguise and everyone knows it's really Mangog and not Odin; Thor manages to break himself free, and races Mangog to the Odinsword.
