An Anti-Government militia compound in Oregon has been under siege for six weeks. All of a sudden the militiamen ask for Mulder and Scully by name. A group of Boy Scouts set out on a survival adventure. When one of the Scout Masters goes off the deep end the boys run off, but only some of them escape. Mulder and Scully show up to take the case. When Scully asks why he is interested, Mulder says the Scout Master sounds like he is suffering from the Windigo Syndrome, something that has seemed to be turning men into monsters in the area for years. They find even more evidence when they track down the Scout Master.
