Aru machikado no monogatari (1962)
Tales from Around the Corner is a Japanese animated short film produced in 1962 by Osamu Tezuka at his studio, Mushi Production, marking his very first work. It is an experimental work illustrating Tezuka's recurring humanist message and expressing his frustration as a creator with economic constraints. It won several awards upon its release. In France, the film was released in 2006 accompanied by two short films, The Mermaid and Self-Portrait, so Tales from Around the Corner refers to the compilation of the three works.
