To win freedom for this enslaved world, the four Sentinels of Liberty must defeat its android ruler called Adam II. A classic battle of man vs. machine! In this strange time and place, will human spirit and courage triumph over scientific steel and might? Appearances by the Invaders, Jack Monroe (aka Nomad), and Scarecrow. Flashback cameos by Bucky, Miss America, Toro, the original Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, and (golden age) Whizzer. (Notes: The Contemplator (aka Mister Buda) previously appeared in Marvel Treasury Special (featuring Captain America) #1 (published in 1976); and returns in Quasar 37.
