Includes a reprint of "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" from Detective Comics #27 (Batman's first appearance) by Bob Kane & Bill Finger. The rest of the comic features 3 other versions of the same plot, to demonstrate how the Dark Knight has both changed and remained constant.
The first of the 3 is "The Cry of Night is - - 'Kill!'" from Detective Comics #387 by Mike Friedrich, Bob Brown & Joe Giella, commissioned in 1969 to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Batman's debut.
The remaining 2 tales are brand new: "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" by Marv Wolfman, Jim Aparo & Mike DeCarlo, and "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" by Alan Grant, Norm Breyfogle & Steve Mitchell.
