When the Thing used Doctor Doom's time machine to travel back in time to cure his past self the alternate timeline that was created as a result has met with disaster (see Marvel Two-In-One #50). In this What If...? style story, because of the Thing's interference with the time-stream; the FF and all of Earth's heroes were killed fighting against Galactus, and since Johnny Storm died before he could jog the Sub-Mariner's memory, Namor never tossed an ice encased Captain America into the ocean to be discovered by the Avengers.
