Shadowman (1992 1st Series) #35

Part 1 of 2. Shadowman's girlfriend Marcia witnesses a gangster hit, unwittingly making herself a target if the gangsters should figure out who she is. These same gangsters have hired the assassin Ishmael to eliminate the star witness in a mobster's trial. Of course, there's a bonus clause in Ishmael's contract. All he has to do is find and kill the woman who witnessed the earlier knock-off. Ishmael is after Marcia. Shadowman is after Ishmael.
